Allāh! There is no god but He, the Living, the Sustainer. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth. Who can intercede with Him except by His permission ? He knows what is before them and behind them and they can grasp only that part of His knowledge He wills. His Throne embraces the heavens and the earth and it tires Him not to uphold both. For He is the Most High, the Formidable. Let there be no compulsion in religion. True guidance has become distinct from error. But whoever disbelieves in false gods and believes in Allāh, has grasped the most strong handhold that will never break. And Allāh is Hearing, Knowing. Allāh is the Protector of those who believe. He brings them out of the darkness and into light. As for those who disbelieve, their supporters will be false gods, who bring them out of the light into darkness. Such are the dwellers of the Fire, abiding therein perpetually. (Quran, 2:255)

Allāhu la ilaha illa Huwa, al-Hayyul-Qayyum. La ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm, lahu ma fi as-samawati wa ma fi al-ard. Man dhal-ladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi-idhnihi. Ya'lamu ma bayna aydihim wa ma khalfahum, wa la yuhituna bi shay'in min 'ilmihi illa bima sha'a. Wasi'a kursiyuhu as-samawati wal-ard. Allāh Waliyyu alladhina amanu yukhrijuhum min adh-dhulumati ila an-Nur. Walladhina kafaru awliya'uhumu at-tagut yukhrijoonahum min an-Nur ila adh-dhulumati. 'Ula'ika as-habu an-Nar hum fiha Khalidun.

Ubay ibn Ka’b (ra) reported that the Messenger of Allah (sas) once asked: “Abul Mundhir, do you know which verse of the Book of Allah that you have is the greatest?” I replied ‘Allah and His Messenger know best.’ He repeated his question and I said: “Allah, there is no God but He, the Living, the Sustainer ?’ Thereupon he struck me on the breast saying: ‘May knowledge be your delight, Oh Abul Mundhir!’”
